I'm back in Singapore! Earlier than expected though...But this means I'll be able to catch all the special Christmas programs on tv! (including a special Christmas episode of Spongebob =D) Feeling quite miserable now though cos I caught a nasty cold and cough in Paris due to the dry and cold weather. In fact I should be sleeping now after taking medicine, but a lizard is currently stationed on the wall beside my bed and i'm afraid that doing anything to try chasing it away might cause it to leap onto my bed. So, i'm here blogging instead. don't think itz gonna move away anytime soon though....
Anyway, Paris was quite uneventful cos we've been there before and this trip was more of a "shopping trip" for my Mum and bro, while the rest of us tagged along. Had fun feeding ducks, seagulls, pigeons and sparrows at a nearby park though. The ducks got most of the food thrown into the water though; swim faster than the seagulls. And the pigeons and sparrows will eat out of your hand =). we went to the pond in the park twice, and the second day almost all of the pond was frozen over, leaving 4 ducks swimming in a small patch of unfrozen water. This time the seagulls managed to get more food. They seem better at walking on ice than the ducks. And they fly too. Somehow the ducks are either too lazy or too fat to fly, so they waddle across the ice to get food. In the end the ducks gave up cos they we simply too awkward on the ice lol. Oh and I managed to get the pigeons to ice-skate too. It was hilarious! I tricked them into going onto the slippery ice with a trial of food, and without webbed feet they couldn't keep balance as well as their water-loving counterparts. Wonder why they didn't think of flying away though, maybe they're hungry.
Having the window seat on a plane is quite fortunate for me because I have the privilege of being able to look out at the tiny things below, that is, after getting below the clouds. Actually, the clouds are also rather interesting. They look so dense and solid that it seems as if you can actually walk on them without falling through. One thing I was very fascinated about was how the sea looked liked from way above. All I could see of the waves were white sort of semi-circular shapes in the sea. And I couldn't see ships moving either from such great heights, so they just looked like they were cutting through a sheet of ice because of the white waves and foam created on both sides of the ship as it sails. In other words, everything looked stationary. However at an altitude of around 300m, I was amazed that I could actually see the ships moving, the water splashing off the sides, people cycling in east coast park and cars moving on the road! ok maybe 300m is quite low already but I didn't expect to be able to see so much detail.
Argh the lizard is still there! Gotta call for reinforcements soon or i'll never get to sleep. oh and I miss my dog! In Paris people love dogs. Well most people I guess cos they even allow dogs in shopping centers and boutiques. Every dog I saw made me think of mine back home in Singapore...Too bad couldn't bring mine there, he would have loved the cold air. Can only bring him home on boxing day since the pet shop is closed today...oh well..a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! ^_^
