Today i was taking the long MRT ride to school(reason for going to school in the last paragraph), and there was no place to sit, so had to stand. And just nice the only place available to stand was where a little boy of about 5 years old was monkeying around the pole. I was trying to hold onto the pole for balance, but the boy kept jumping onto the pole and climbing up so that he can grab those handles hanging above and swing on them. And he also kept spinning around the pole, oblivious to those around him. Everyone was so annoyed la, and the worst thing is, his mother was just sitting there doing nothing to stop him. I frowned when the little boy kicked into me when swinging and his mother only said "see you kick into people liao, quick say sorry". Though the boy did say "sorry", he wasn't even looking at me when he said that, just saying to the air.
And he did all these annoying things all the way until Red Hill, when a guy came in, sat down and started playing PSP. His mother then openly and loudly told him to go sit beside the guy and watch him play. So the boy was like staring into the PSP screen until his head almost block the screen. But luckily for him the nice guy didn't shoo him away, still let him watch. Finally at Clementi they got down, and the train suddenly became so quiet cos the boy was also making weird screaming noises at the top of his voice.
Oh ya, and there was this stupid perverted man on the train also. One of the rare few minutes that the pole was annoying-little-boy-free, I held on to it, and this idiotic man beside me looked at the pole and suddenly grabbed it
right on top of my hand! The whole pole was totally free and he had to grab it there, then after that pretend it was and accident and quickly move his hand up. I shot him a dirty look and he quickly got down the next stop.
Anyway, I had to go all the way down to school to collect a device called the "clicker" and have a briefing on how to use it. It is sort of like a mini remote control and has the numbers/alphabets 0-9/A-J on it. It is to be used in lectures like when the lecturer flashes a question, you press the answer on your clicker. Your choice will be anonymous (except to the teacher) and a chart will be used to show how many % of the students chose what option. Quite interesting. We had to pay $10 deposit for it, refundable after we don't need it anymore, provided you didn't destroy it...apparently some of these responses you give will be including in the coursework marks, so cannot anyhow press..
